Product Definition
LMF or Low melt staple fiber is a fiber which is produced by using polyester and modified polyester to spin simultaneously. It has a lower melting point from 90 degrees to 220 degrees. 110ºC LMF is the most common in the market. When heated to 110-150 ºC, the sheath layer can melt and generate a sheath-core or side-by-side structure. Low melt polyester staple fiber (LMF) is also called 4080 or hot-melt cotton in the non-woven fabric industry. It is made by low-melting polyester and conventional polyester.
Low Melting Fiber, also known as a bi-component fiber, is commonly used as a thermal bonding fiber. Its structure typically consists of a sheath/core type, with a sheath polymer and a core polymer. Notably, the melting point of the sheath polymer is lower than that of the core polymer. The utilization of low melting fiber offers several advantages, including a low melting point, durability, and high bonding strength. Additionally, it can be blended with other types of fibers to manufacture padding, interlining, and high-quality mattresses.
